Featured Etsy Crafter: Spirit of Giving

Who doesn't love etsy? I do, and to spread my obsession, im starting a
series of posts of great etsy crafters, and first up is Becky's shop
Spirit of Giving.

She makes cute hooded towels, burp clothes and various other one of a
kind baby items. She's inspired by her kids, who help her get to know
her products, figuring out what a mom uses and what kids actually
like. Plus she reads blogs to help her get inspired creatively.

And why etsy? She has a friend that sells on etsy who got her looking
and after checking it out Becky decided to give it a try. And
according to her "I haven't looked back since!" Becky uses etsy, like
most moms, at naptime and after the kids are put to bed. Though she's
done craft shows, etsy is her best venue because of the custom nature
of her items. She also loves to buy supplies on etsy, since you buy
from home and you can participate in the etsy community.

Attracting Buyers

How do you package your handmade items? Whether its food, clothing,
art, furniture, or anything, everyone has a certain store that stands
out to them. And i've been giving it much thought lately. I noticed
that i've always been attracted to packaging that way cute and had
personal touches, and so is most of the world.

I personally like to buy food from cute little restaurants and
bakeries and clothes from stores that have a cozy feel to them. And
what these store owners tend to do is package up their products in
cute packaging that makes you feel good just looking at it.

Whether its something as simple as an extra button in a little folded
piece of pretty paper pinned to the dress to jelly in a custom jar
with a heart shaped sticker closing, these touches signify handmade
items made with love. So if you sell handmade, remember that its the
little things that count. Loving touches that makes us feel like the
seller cares and has poured their whole heart into this one item.
